Heatwave anyone?

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m over this heatwave already!

I’m grateful to only be in the UK, and not in any of the countries that are getting hit with temperatures of over 40 degrees. It’s meant to reach 31 degrees where I am today, and my office doesn’t have air conditioning, so I’m fully expecting this to be a rough week.

Excessive heat tends to make me feel pretty sick and irritable, so I need to work hard to just stay cool and calm this week. Otherwise I’ll just be the absolute worst to be around!

I’m thinking that instead of going to the gym this week as part of my small victory goals, I will probably try and go for a swim instead. Anything to cool down. Although the gym does have air conditioning which sounds lovely right about now.

I’m feeling quite distracted this morning, as if my brain is just white noise. I think it’s worse than usual because of the heat. I’m hoping that my concentration is okay because it’s so busy at work, there’s no time for mistakes. I’m trying to not get caught up in my unrealistic idea that I need to do everything perfectly, including how I interact with everyone. I need to let myself off if I don’t smile at someone while I’m talking to them. It’s hot as shit. We’re all going to be in the same boat and I’m not going to pretend to be super happy, but I can be professional.

Anyway, this was just a little rant more than anything else. Bring on autumn and winter, I miss that chill in the air!
